Our company did well for a few years in somewhat superficial terms - getting into Y Combinator, raising a seed round of $1mm and getting a lot of positive press. However, we struggled to grow in terms of customers, and were unable to sign a single retailer to a long term contract.
It's pretty hard to admit failure - it is ultimately quite frustrating that our company couldn’t live up fully to our expectations. But there’s great comfort in what we learnt from it - on building a product, selling to large customers, raising money, and the entrepreneur’s journey. We’re glad that we tried.
We are now running a data science consultancy called MetricBoy!
