How it works

 
 

The Technology

We pride ourselves on offering a seamless and scalable solution that just works. All we need to collect the metrics described above is access to existing store security footage. Most security cameras are IP connected which means that with just a username and password, we can begin running analytics for all of a retailer's stores across the country (or globe). Instantly.

Our solution is completely software-based and so we promise to never install annoying pieces of hardware throughout your store (that means no rewiring, no installations, no infrastructure costs). We leverage the emerging field of Computer Vision and open source libraries to run analytics on videos. By tracking changes in pixels across continuous frames of video, we are able to detect movement, customer paths, and waiting patterns through the use of technology.

Customer Privacy

We take customer privacy extremely seriously. That's why we will never track or identify individual customers through the store. We only focus on aggregate level metrics at certain locations in the store. So we won't follow you around the store to pickup what your purchasing behavior looks like - we just analyze what happens at one location within the store.

On top of that, we don't use any facial recognition technology nor do we track repeat customers. Our technology can transform customers into "blobs" (that's the technical term) of pixels so that they cannot be identified in any way.
